We are always taking submissions for the City Guide product line, new projects for that line are constantly being added. Submissions for it should be in the form of a single location up to a full set of locations to flesh out a city block.
Please email Our Staff with any queries towards this.

Writer Submissions
Please be sure to send us a resume of published work or an example of the quality of your work. Be sure to peruse our site to determine if the topics you cover would be consistent with the material we present. Currently the main interest is in writers with a cyberpunk-esque feel to them for our Science-Fiction line of D20 products, as well as people interested in providing material for town and city settings for our D20 Fantasy line. If you have a set minimum rate that you will work for, please make sure to specify your range of fees so we can determine up front if you are out of our project budget.
email: writers@darkquest.com Please attach a copy of our non-disclosure form to all submissions.

City Guide Series

You can either send in a completed location rough draft to see if we are interested in it, and we will give a contract on that item as described, as well as possibly request other locations from you. 2000-6000 word section per location.
Covering:
Basic History of the Store as known fact or as rumors.
Main NPCs (Basic background and some personality to them).
Layout of the location and anything they sell.
Prices if different from the standard rulebook and an explanation of why.
Any new items available for purchase from the shop.
Plot Hooks if any for the location.

Guiding Light
Guiding Light is a detailed exploration of a single Diety or a pantheon of Dieties. It needs to be fully fleshed out, and also provide material such that a Player or DM can use the product for similar Dieites in their campaign world. We do take complete submissions from a single writer, although would prefer to team you up with staff that are already familiar with our style to help you create a work we will be happy with. Sample submissions should include things of interest to a cleric, paladin, or general follower of a particular diety.

Fur And Feather
Fur and Feather, Scale and Claw is a product line exploring things of the wilderness. We are not interested in just monster books, instead this product line is to detail out things in full fleshed out form. Which means, that we may be looking for a guide to the wild berries of a forest, including creatures that eat them, or use those berries as a lure to hunt adventurers and other animals. Recommended samples should take advantage of knowledge of our style by providing a sample of fleshed out horse from our Into the Saddle product, or an example of an exotic breed based on information from the same product.

Dweomercraft
While Guiding Light explores the divine aspects of the mystic powers, Dweomercraft explores all things mystical. Possible products could include new forms of magic or a deeper specialization into one style. And obvious choice for a sample of your work would be a new spell, or a sample of how you would tweak a pre-existing spell to accomplish a new magic style. And example of a prestige class fully detailed would be another possible submission sample.

Lost Prehistorica
While Lost Prehistorica is not wholely a campaign setting, instead a toolbook with several possible settings, it is important that you have an understanding of past products to be able to keep the toolbooks from contradicting one another. Samples for this product line can vary greatly, and in some form may overlap other of our product lines.

Cyber Style
Our current product line of Cyber Style has evolved from material designed for d20 fantasy, but has since been modified to fit with d20 Modern. The product line splits slightly with a Line Developer for straight Cyber Style, and a second one for our Whisper City setting, which mixes some magic with technology. Submissions should take into consideration settings so as not to contradict them, however the product line allows for a tool book approach to design.

d20 Modern
Our main target for d20 Modern is Cyber Style and related cyber products. But submissions of other forms of d20 modern products are welcomed.

Non-d20 Products
We currently are not producing any products that are not d20. This does not mean we will not look at proposals, but the product needs to be extraordinary for us to devote time and resources to a product of that sort.
